oem cpu vs retail

I know that you used to get a longer Warranty with Retail over OEM but think I have saw a few instances where that has changed and the Retail Boxed version has a Heatsink/Fan

The one thing to remember is that the motherboard you have selected only supports X-Fire so if you are running Nvidia now and want to add a 2nd card at a later date then you will need a new motherboard.

I have that same CPU and motherboard combo and so far am happy with it but I only have a small OC on it of 4.2Ghz using a Corsair H80i.

And as others have said the difference between OEM and Retail is in the Warranty length.

Ahh. maybe a no then.
Already ordered a 780ti to replace 7950

It's your money of course, though I don't seem the logic in 'upgrading' your GPU to another card with 3GB.

I'd only ever upgrade GPU if it has more memory than my current one, and what with newer games using more and more VRAM, the 3GB on your new card will hit the limits even in 1080P.

Well if it has the same vram but more raw horsepower it is still a upgrade!
Am gaming at 2560x1080 so if my 7950 is handling well can only see 780ti being even better and vram at that resolution is a none issue.
Benchmarks show it being better than 7950 crossfire so single card instead of possible multi gpu issues, power saved, case space saved..
Also who can say it not a thing of beauty, to go in a windowed case?!
