Retail comes in a nice box with a stock cooler and a 3 year warranty.

OEM has a 1 year warranty and would probably be packaged in a small plain box.

There's no difference in the processors themselves.

I also find that with a retail processir you get a bit more money back if or when you come to sell the processor later on. As long as you keep the box and other contents of course.

For a small price difference it has to be worth getting retail.

I bought OEM as I bought a third party cooler and it's great.
If you're that worried, take out the $25 OC warranty on it so if it breaks just say 'OH I WHACKED THE VOLTAGE UP AND IT BROKE...'

why would they just change your order without your knowledge? Apalling service that!

I would pay extra for the boxed version for longer warranty , nice intel sticker, ok heatsink in case you need it for emergency.

A power supply is something you should not look to save money on. Cosair etc do some good power supplies at about £50 which will be much more stable. The cheapo ones are normally poor when you start pushing them a bit.

I would spend a bit more and get a decent PSU.

Agreed and poor show on them just swapping it out without your consent either. Definitely should have contacted you first to make sure that was acceptable

Its a pretty bad idea to skimp on the psu. Cheapo ones have a habit of going pop and trashing other components. A good psu is one of the most important pc purchases.

i'm regreting this order all ready.. should have gone somewhere else...last year i bought a system from oc ...they put a SSD IN LIKE I ASKED AND TO PUT WINDOWS ON they forgot to connect the SSD and to put windows on it so had to send it back...then something went wrong with the overclock ..had to send it back then overclock went again kept geting blue screens..so i had the machine 2 weeks they had it more than me..then to rub salt into the wounds..i paaid by credit card and paid it off the next week so my card was showing nothin owing...they promised to send me a cheque they put it on the card ..hope this aint gunna be a nightmare purchase
