Hi,

I've bought Vista home premium 32 bit OEM. I havent broken the seal yet, but I'm a bit worried about installing it as it says it must be installed on the hard drive using the OEM preinstallation kit. What does this mean please? Or can I simply install it by changing my boot order to CD the usual way.

Thanks

Just make sure your installing on the system that your gonna use for a while, once installed you cannot transfer or change mobo.

dont worry about HDD it will install fine

Ok thanks. I was just a bit confused that I might have to register myself as a system builder with microsoft or something silly

are you able to format and reinstall vista with the oem version or is it just one install and that's it. I don't intend on changing any hardware but i like to format every 3/4 months or so, would oem do?. Sorry for hijacking your thread btw :)

it should be ok because system ID would be the same (OS makes a ID for activation) but you might need to call ms for activation.

Thanks for the quick answer, I was in two minds wether to buy oem or retail. I guess I can get oem and another gig of ram :)
