OEM processor??

How effective will the Corsair H50 watercooler be if used with an Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 running at stock speeds??

I will need an effective cooler as the CPU is OEM there is no cooler supplied and i doubt my Q9300 cooler will be upto the job.

OR what air cooler will the job to good effect??

Corsair H50 will easily take an overclocked CPU, no doubts about it.

To be blunt at stock any after market cooler really. !

The H50 you mention is a very good cooler. Its more used for highly overclocked systems and keeping them cool.

OK thanks for that. I will be getting the QX9650 and probably the H50 as well.

Also just had a thought, as i am using an OEM version of windows and have run out of the amount of times i can activate it, will installing a new processor have any implications on this as i reckon windows will see this as a significant hardware change.
