Does changing the CPU constitute a new system under MS OEM regulations?

It will check the CPU as part of the activation so my guess is that it will throw it out. Might need a quick phone call to activate. I have done this for CPUs and it's never been a problem. A different motherboard is an entirely different matter.

Like Huddy said, you may need to reactivate, but hopefully you should be able to do this online.

You are still fully licensed though.

Thank you guys, won't be changing motherboard for a couple of years I would have thought so will go OEM as a little christmas present to myself.
