OEM - Retail?

Now... OEM is £135 and retail (although included both 32 AND 64bit versions) is a whopping £352

Why the serious price difference?
There both the same right? "Vista Ultimate Edition"

No they are not the same. Retail you can install on any one pc at any given time so can be transferred to another PC if you buy a new one or upgrade the old one with a new motherboard.

OEM can only be installed on ONE pc, so if the motherboard changes or you decide to buy a completely new box then you need a new Vista license.

Hence retail is more.

Does that cover if you format your HD and need to re-install and activate? would that still work?
