OEM / Retail?

I was just looking at two processors and one is listed as Retail the other as OEM, can anyone tell me what these both mean and what the difference is?

Retail comes with stock intel/amd heatsink and 3 year warranty.

OEM is just the processor, and 1 year warranty.

The retail will have nice packaging, a heatsink and a longer warranty,

The oem is just a chip in a small box with a 1 year warranty.

But the price is identical? So why would you go for the OEM?

Because its usually cheaper.

But in this case its not.

yep a no brainer, go with the retail packaged one...

I also find that with buying a retail processor you get more of your money back if you come to sell it in the future. Helps with resale value.
