If i remember correctly my windows licence is attached to my motherboard. Is it possible to remove my licence from that motherboard and install it onto a new motherboard?

Fancyed upgrading my motherboard/CPU/Ram.... didnt fancy paying for a new windows 7 licence at the same time!

Ok seeing as the OPs question was answered in the other thread I'll hiijack this one to ask a question I am pretty sure I know the answer to.

My current machine has an OEM copy of Vista installed.
If I were to buy a copy of 7 (not an upgrade) does that render my copy of vista useless (IE cannot be used on another machine)

you should not (but can) use the vista on another machine

Yeah same argument applies for what your asking as that for reinstalling the same OEM OS on a new machine/motherboard.

Physically you can, technically you shouldn't. Make of that what you will.:p

You may need to phone MS to reactivate it.
