So I purchased a copy of WinXP and it was advertised as full version.

Installed it and checked and it is OEM.

I am told by the seller that it was installed once and used for a short period of time.

I have managed to activate it with no issue.

My question is am I likely to encouter problems down the line - As far as I am concerned I have not got what I paid for and am in breach of the license conditions - He has offered me a full refund, but its such a chew on....If its not going to be an issue I might not bother, given that XP support is about to be withdrawn anyway.

Also, I have my own license for XP Pro 64bit - Would this work with this Home 32bit install or not?

To be fair the cost was minimal, under £20, but its the fact I didn't get what was advertised which I find unaccaptable.

OEM and retail were no different with XP, it's only when Vista was released that Microsoft started the myth about not transferring an OEM license hoping people would buy retail instead, in practice they've never done anything to stop it though because someone would kick their bums in court and expose the con that it is.

Given the recent EU ruling over downloadable software I really cannot see MS ever prosecuting anybody in the EU over re-using an OEM licence and winning, that's just my opinion though so don't take it as fact :)
