Hi

Quick question :)

Most of the times when you buy a laptop it has hidden recovery partition with windows or it is coming with recovery dvd disk.

What about clevo type laptops with preinstalled oem windows.
You have got sticker with activation key but no hidden partition nor dvd disk.

How to reinstall system ?? What is the best option to do it?
I know I can do a backup of my OS right now and use it later but is there any other option ?

Cheers for any answers:)

Put it on a thumb drive?

I had a similar problem with my wife's EeePC in that it comes with an ASUS DVD, but no DVD drive. I copied-and-pasted the install files onto a 4Gb thumb drive and installed off that; there may have been some messing about to get the BIOS to boot off the drive though.

Ditto for Office. You buy the CDs, but it will accept you installing it off a thumb drive.

Cheers

I have got dvd drive problem is I don't have windows CD ;p
Doesn't one of the included CDs have the Windows install on it?

The ASUS one does, but it's no clearly identified as such; it just says something like "ASUS recovery CD".

Cheers for links will try them.

No I didnt get any os Cd's only drivers with my clevo. Windows 7 was already preinstalled as oem.

Just re-use the key on the bottom of the laptop as OEM can be re-installed as many times as required on the single system it came with :)

Regards.
