I have an old but perfectly usable Lenovo T420 laptop, who's hdd has just died.

I have no install disks but there is a Win7 PRO sticker with activation code on the laptop.

When I enter the activation code here I get the message telling me to contact the manufacturer.

Is there any way I can (legally) reinstall windows 7 on a new disc using the existing activation code, i.e. without buying a new copy of windows?

What key do you mean?

I have the 20 digit product key but I'm unable to download the ISO from MS using this key. I assume that the install with a Windows 7 pro cd will fail to activate for the same reason (though I've not tried as I don't have Windows 7 install discs, hence why I tried to download the ISO from MS).

I've used the key on the bottom of my sons laptop to activate windows 7 installed using my retail disc. If you can getnhold of a retail disc it'll work but may need activating over the phone or online.
