I think it would be your connection that would have the problem! They do say there is no upper limit on what you can store. If you do happen to try this, could you let me know if it works please? I have no problem at the moment as I can link up a few more internal drives, but I will be looking into a Qnap or similar in the near future, and would like all of that backed up off-site as well.
Personally rsync does everything I need and I just splurge the data onto a spare server in our datacenter, you could always do the same to amazon s3 for a cheap and fully featured backup solution and the scheduling and shaping can do anything you want. It's not a solution for everyday users but it's powerful and really easy if you have any unix experience.
