off topic but there's no psu section

so i thought i'd post in here as i spend most time in the graphics card section,

any way i have noticed a slight whine coming from the psu fan, i know it's the fan as i stopped it briefly and the noise disappeared, now it's not loud but just enough to get a little annoying, so i put the computer on the floor besides the table so i don't notice it

so the question is is this anything to worry about? it's part of a config your own from ocuk and just under 2 months old

Some have fans that are more noticeable than others.

There are very few reviews to go on to know what it should sound like.

You shouldn't really hear more than the movement of air so if it's making any sort of "mechanical" noise that may not be a good sign.

The fan isn't any different from a fan in your PC so if it's making a distinctly different noise that may also be a bad sign.

You could always post in the OCZ Forum like this person did and see what they say:

If you need to RMA the PSU get an RMA number and send it back to OcUK. It should hopefully be easier than sending it to OCZ in the Netherlands.

i put a message on the support bit of the forum, don't think i'll leave it cause if the fan fails i'll be in trouble, just a bugger that in less than 2 months it has already gone back once and now this
