My youngest brothers been offered 2nd hand E6750 for £60 on a 'mates rates' basis ;) He's current pc is socket 939 based so an upgrade is long overdue. I was about to build him new pc using either E4500 or E2200, inc decent motherboard and some cheap PC6400 memory; as I figured the 11x multi on both those cpu's would allow plenty of headroom over clocking wise (+ his current Tuniq cooler).

Might sound silly to even ask opinions on this, but I know nothing about over clocking E6750 (good oc, bad, all GO revision?), however have plenty of experience with the other two cpu's. Total cost for either upgrade work’s out about the same inc the additional parts.

The E6750 is a G0 stepping dual core with even more overclocking headroom than a Q6600 GO! In most cases 4Ghz is obtainable on decent air cooling.

Basically it’s a great chip on the right board, and for 60quid its a steal!

Your mb and ram would be ideal!

Would suggest P5K-E or MSI Neo2 P35 based board for good overclocking results with its higher FSB requirements.

I'm currently using an E6750 right now and can vouch that its a good chip. Right now I have it running at 3.6Ghz. My mother board is an Asus P5KE-WiFi. BTW that was the first time i've ever overclocked a CPU and ram so was pleased with the results :)

£60 is a steal mate. get it :)

Cool, well bear in mind this chip loves FSB, almost seems like it has no FSB wall. so matching it with a very stable proven overclocking board and some overclocking skills your bro should have a stinker of a setup!

Built my wee bro's system tonight; E6750 had absolutely no trouble reaching 3.6GHz on air with very small v.core increase. Brothers well chuffed, and so he should be when you take into account potential £'s to be made back on old parts. :)
