*OFFICAL* 9600GT Thread

worrying if its the latter. Edit: Thanks for the clarification JediFragger.

I think we're looking at...
8800 GTS640/320 for old times sake.
3850 Pro
8800 GS
9600 GT
3870 XT/X2
8800 GT
8800 GTS 512
8800 GTX/Ultra
3870 X2

as the slowest to fastest enthusiast cards (at standard clocks).

Correct me if I'm wrong...

At standard clocks and when working correctly the 3870X2 can outperform the Ultra.

I'd put it as above, when the 3870X2 is only using one core then its performance is near a 3870XT.

Willhub has the right of it in his post, the 3870 X2 is the single fastest card you can buy.

In a couple of reviews Ive seen - the 3870 performs better than the 8800GT

Just got the 8800 GTS 512mb (amazing and huge), but kinda wishing i'd shelled out the extra £60 for the 3870X2 as one day could get a second to run in Crossfire (P35 board).

Dam you Nvidia for restricting SLi to your own boards, probably sell none if weren't for that!

The 9600GT will replace the 8600GTS (and 8800GS) in their product lineup, when they price them in line with a 8600GTS in a few weeks, then I reckon i'll get rid of the old x1900 finally.

One question, my x1900 only just fits in my case, are these cards longer or shorter?

I might get a 9600GT as a nice backup card if they get priced near 8600GTS pricing.

I think they are the same legth as a X1900XT.

Lets not turn this in to a FS thread guys, you know where the members markets is... except you umma you haven't got enough posts. ;)

Hmm, was going to buy a 3850 512mb but now this is out I'm reconsidering.

Anybody got info on dimensions of the MSI GeForce 9600GT 512MB?

And also, is it compatible with a P5K-VM mATX board?

And would it fit in a TT Lanbox?

Thanks
