This year golf fans should be very happy as you will finaly get to play
on the all important Augusta course !

the Demo of this game is now available on Xbox live and PSN (08/03/11)
1.6gig.


Demo Details:

The first five holes at one of the new courses in the game (TPC San Antonio Oaks) will be playable in the demo. Interestingly the demo also carries an incentive as those who complete it will be able to skip the Amateur Tour in “Road to the Masters” mode. Instead those who get through the demo can begin the mode on the Nationwide Tour. Additional experience points will be offered to those who “share” the demo with a certain number of friends as well.

EA has delivered even more info on the demo. The “Play Now” mode will give the opportunity to play the 18th at Augusta National as Tiger Woods. “True View” perspective is available which allows the user to play in a 1st person perspective. Also of note is that the PS3 version will have Playstation Move support: http://www.ea.com/tiger-woods/blog/demo-announcement

My Demo Impressions:

Only had a quick 30 minutes play, the graphics look good but as usual they dont seem a massive step up from the previous game but like all Tiger woods titles some courses always end up looking better than others and for some reason these courses are never included in the demo. although you get to play the 18th at Augusta Nation i cant help but feel they could have picked a prettier hole but oh well.
I still havent mastered the new shot setup as its changed completely and i can only hope it feels more natural when i get longer to practice.
they have included a real Caddy that gives you tips on your shot before you play and i can once again only hope you can turn this fool off as after only 2 holes i wanted to murder him. once again EA and their gimmicks followed by mass marketing hysteria " THE ALL NEW CADDY IS NOW AVAILABLE BLAH BLAH" woop dee doo!

Anyway the game is out 1st April.

Despite the 1st pic showing a "disable caddy" he pops back up on the next hole and the next ect. maybe a demo glitch i hope.

Is this Move compatible?

I thought it was but none of the retailers seem to know for sure...
 
Having bought the last 5 Tiger Woods releases, I can't help but feel the irony that the April 1st release date is reflective of the shoddy iterations that have been released over the last couple of years and the content that EA withhold upon release and expect you to pay for it immediately.

However, I will still probably buy it out of habit. *sigh*
 
I honestly don't think I like this years changes to gameplay.
I think I may just buy the extra 9 courses for my 2011 version.
1600 points at the moment but that may drop when Tiger 2012 comes out.

what does anyone else think or dont people play computer golf here ?
 
May consider this. Haven't bought a TW golf game since 2008, so I may actually notice some changes.

Also, anyone know if is there a sub game where if you do well you get to plough as many women as possible? Could be fun in the new 1st person view.

is the puttign improved .. played a demo last year and hated the fact i couldnt use the white line to do distance to hole .. or was that a feature you coudl put back on ?? old tw i coudl get 100 yard puts .. played teh demo and me and mate hated it 9 was 2010 ..

I'm looking on the PSN now and I can't find Tiger Woods 2012. Is it part of the Playstation Plus membership has I don't have this and thought that's why I couldn't see it/find it on PSN?
 
I know it isn't all the developers fault but the last few I played were far too easy and there wasn't much tension or anything when doing tournaments as I was always a clear leader. Has it started getting harder at all?
 
I'm liking the demo a lot more the last few days.
Turn the commentary off for the caddy and disable him via the B button on xbox and he pretty much bogs off.
before every shot just tap the A button so u can line your "own" shot up as usual.
graphics wise i have noticed there isnt any jaggies this year which is nice.
the ball physics seem a lot better with more realistic bouncing on landing.
i'd encourage anyone to not use putt preview as the game will never be a challange.

i do the following: no power boosting, no power spin and no putt preview.
you appriciate the game more and hitting a decent shot feels good
iff you do non of the above its a case of swing bang putt in the hole, next hole, rinse repeat. i dont see the point.
