Office 2007 licencing

Sorry to ask, but on a related note, and I really should know this:
Is it legal to use the one license on both PC and laptop if you are both the registered owner of office, and the only user of both computers?

Yes as long as your the only user and you only use one copy at once.

the REAL question is... why use office 2007? ;)

Why is this the "Real" question?
Surely if this was the "Real" question the OP would have asked it rather than the question he did?

If you want an answer to your question.
It's quite simple really, Office 2007 is so far the best version of the best office suite available.
I guess that is to the point.

Got Ultimate for £40, I know OpenOffice is "cheaper" (;)), but I'm always up for trying new things.

Thanks for the answer!
