Looking around the web I've found several places selling Office 2007 MVL products (such as Outlook, Access, Word Publisher etc.) for sale at seriously cheap prices (around £20). Surely this isn't legal?

Cheers for the replies guys. :) Basically then it's not really legal if you're not getting a licence with the software. Naughty of these places to be selling to the general public really then.

no, i think you can either download the discs or pay for them

then you go to microsoft and pay them for the serial

That makes more sense then. Although these websites should make this more clear. I'd be ticked off If I'd paid the money and then found out I had to pay out again for the serial. It would make more sense simply purchasing a normal retail product surely?

bill gates did not become the richest man in the world selling software for 20 quid a pop. :D

Tell me about it. Crikey knows how much I've given MS over the years including the money for Vista and Office 2007. Mind you I bet old Bill would take £20 per disc on every product than the current state of affairs where he sees hardly anything at all for most copies that are in use (particularly in Asia).

There are three different products as sold online for MS Office OEM.

You can get the media and licence in one package

You can get the licence (just the serial)

You can buy the media kit (Discs)

You obviously need both a key and media to install. The licence is the expensive part.
