Office 2007 - re-register file associations

Hi

On previous versions of office, i.e 2000, 2003, if the file associations went wrong I could fix it quickly and easily by running the command "excel /regserver" from a run prompt. For Office 2007 this does not work, it just opens the application.

Is there a similar procedure for Office 2007? I am aware I can change file associations manually (we are still running XP) but some of the advanced options are easiest changed by simply re-registering the file extension.

Are the file extentions just completely borked? Whenever I've come across this, the quickest solution was just to reinstall Office. Crude solution but it works for me and time is usually of the essence.

You could try to do a repair on office short of reinstalling it. If there are a lot of machines to do it on you could probably script it.

Looks like a reinstall then - shame as the /regserver feature worked great in previous versions..
