Office 2007 - Where has the paragraph space gone

Hi there,

Normally when I press enter, it leaves a space to represent a new paragraph, and when i press shift enter it goes to a new line.

Now its just going to a new line when i press enter, how do i get the space it used to leave back.

I am in compatibility mode - is that why?

no, its the standard formatting for O2K7 and only enters to the normal line when typing text.

Under the Home tab under styles, right click on normal and you can modify the settings in there. Alternatively, choose the 'no spacing' preset for that section of text.
 
Nope Normal, but I think the styles for the doucment might have been set from office 2003, so is there anyway I can setup the spacing now without ruining the whole document or creating a style just for text?

...I am guessing no, because the rest of the styles are formatted from the "Normal" style?
