Office 2008 SP1

You have to use the latest version of Microsoft Autoupdater for it to detect the update

It's terrible, just like the rest of Office 2008. It's completely broken my install.

I love the way Office contains an Auto Updater that is completely useless as well.

Just installed office 2008 again with this SP1 update, and its still slow like usual. I wish they would either add compatibility to iWork as when I used it I could not find an option to save as a .doc, only reason I wish they would do this is because I always take my work to school so I can print it there instead of home.

My other option might be to install office 2008 on VMware and use unity.

File > Export :)

If you want to make sure it prints EXACTLY as it looks in Pages then export/print to PDF ;)

Had a few issues, mainly autoupdate being stupid but eventually it updated...

Can't say I notice any discernible difference - but to be honest - even though I may be in the minority, it ran perfectly for me anyway...

I still prefer iWork though :)

Does iWork still put the stupid THIS WAS MADE WITH IWORK!!! whenever you export to an Excel file?

AFAIK - but it allows me to look down my nose at my colleagues when exchanging hard copies!! :)

Heh - there is a way to change it... its like when you email from an iphone - you have the option to change the message...

I'll have a scout around..

I only used it briefly when I had a Mac without office installed.. it seemed to handle most of the office documents pretty well but saving just annoyed the hell out of me.

I'm glad I don't pay for Office: Mac :o

Haven't installed SP1 either.. not after these horror stories.
