I have office 2010 x86 installed and need to use Visio. Only have an x64 copy available. I was under the assumption that this would be OK and would work. Am I wrong?

I do not believe this is the case.
If you attempt to install 64bit Office after 32bit Visio you are told to remove Visio first.
If you install 64bit Office first and then attempt to install 32bit Visio you're told you cannot do it.

As far as I'm aware all elements of Office - Visio etc, need to be the same, either 32bit or 64bit.

Correct.

Actually, most of you are wrong it seems. (well, almost right).

If you are on x86 office and try to run office x64 or any individual component (such as Visio x64) it tells you to upgrade.

However, my laptop at home is Office 2010 x64 and when I got in, I grabbed a copy of Visio 2007 Pro x86 and it installed fine, no problems whatsoever.
