Thought I'd turn on Controlled Folder Access having just updated to the Fall Creators Update. Then accessing Outlook I got my first warning. Same for Word, Excel, etc. I would have thought Microsoft would permit its own applications by default. I have manually added the applications (64bit versions) to the allowed list.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, perhaps it's because I ran the upgrade rather than a fresh install?

To me that is exactly how it should work.

You should have to decide what apps are allowed to access to your data.
