Hi all,
Hope everyone has had a good new years?
I've been tasked with looking into ways to smooth a migration to Office 365 for users, and have had some ideas, but need some 'thoughts' from some of you reprobates!![Stick Out Tongue :p :p](/styles/default/xenforo/vbSmilies/Normal/tongue.gif)
Basically, from what i understand of Office 365, to do SSO and reduce downtime, an AD Federated Sync program + Exch2010 Hybrid install is needed.
For our primary site, that's fine, as we're running Exch2010 anyway.
Our secondary sites are an issue however, different domains, one of which, has its own Exch2003 install.
Here lies the question:
My idea, is to setup site-to-site links using our firewall (ISA) to the other sites (appliances) and then add their domains as child domains of ours then setup 2 way trusts.
Im hoping that this would have the net effect of allowing all users in all 3 domains SSO ability via the top level domain.
From what the Office365 'support' doc's say, this should be possible.
The issue arrives from one of the secondary sites having its own Exch installation, 2003.
Would this be able to co-exist for a period, without issue or reconfiguration, after its domain has been made a child of another's?
Ideally, we would 'transfer' the mailboxes from it to our Exch2010 install and then use that to migrate to Office365, but im completely unsure as to how/if that would work with child domains.
To further complicate things, All 3 sites have their own email domains that are different to their internal domain names.
All the sites bar the primary will be migrated to a new email domain that will be at Office365, with the primary, still needing to keep its email domain functional in addition to the Office365 one...move secondary's upto 365 and have a custom address policy for main site users needing the old addresses perhaps?
Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance all!![Smile :) :)](/styles/default/xenforo/vbSmilies/Normal/smile.gif)
