Hey fellow OC UK people, I'm thinking about purchasing Office 365 university edition (currently at Lancaster uni doing my masters) and I wanted to know how this 365 works. Do you install native desktop applications similarly to previous versions of office such as 2010 and then gain additional access to online cloud services?

Any clarification would be great, I just upgraded to Windows 8 Pro and fancy the new office to go with it. Cloud document access on both my Windows 8 PC and Mac laptop sounds cool.

Cheers

Hi Just got Office 365, I have the home edition so I can use it on 5 computers for £79.99 a year, I have all the applications Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher.

The only down side you have to have a Microsoft account (I have Hotmail) and the most important thing you have to separately download Office 365 for each computer, I have 4 at home + windows tablet, so I will have to download 5 times.

You can manage the computers Office 365 with your office 365 account, to be honest I see no difference to this to the bought version, to me a bargain, try and buy 5 Office professional licences, @£329 X 5 = £1645.00
So it’s yes to all your questions you download all the applications + get the cloud service as well ;);)
