I am currently still using the office chair I bought for uni in 2002. I have recently been told I have a twisted spine which isn't helped by my bad posture. Luckily my ailment can be fixed with some work by me and the osteopath. Can someone recommend a decent desk chair for good lower back support? I don't have any real budget just a desire to get back on my MTB ASAP as currently been banned from riding :(

The Kashmir Microfibre Manager's Chair from staples is pretty good. I know a few people on here have them. I picked mine up on sale for £160ish IIRC

Get one of these bad boys: http://www.promechracing.com/Office-Racing-Chairs/Speed-Chair/c-1-105-123/

Torkel from ikea isn't bad either, considering the price.

Spine issues though.. i'd seriously consider spending as much as you can and getting a decent chair mate. Nothing more important than your health at the end of the day imo.

No lumbar support and it's also not full height so it's easy to slouch forward therefore bending your spine / bad posture. Basically it's not 'helping' you achieve good posture but this doesn't mean it's preventing you.

Used steelcase leap from ebay.

+1 from me also.

I'm sure like a lot of other forum members I spend a large amount of time sat at my desk and because of this I used to get through cheap chairs at the rate of 1 every year or 2 as they aren't designed for heavy use.

The Steelcase Leap doesn't only provide excellent back support it is also very hard wearing. I got mine nearly 4 years ago and it still looks as good now as when I got it.
