had a letter from them saying 'your house has been picked at random, your participation is very important etc etc..'
it's not saying I HAVE to do it so I'll give it a miss - but why do they have to send an interviewer round?
why not just send the questions they're going to ask on a form?
then you could send it back, or not
 
I've had the same before and taken part. It's all basic stuff and easy to answer but they do an interview as they mix up the questions and use some supplementary material to aid the answers provided. All stuff that could easily be set up online but I guess they haven't got round to it yet.
 
it's for the Household Assets Survey, so it says
also says the information provided could be shared with other organisations under the Code of Practice for Official Statistics
that could mean anything without actually reading up on this code
very vague!
