Hi there I'm new to the forums and this is my first post.

As the title says I'm looking to turn a general office/htpc into more of a gaming pc but not sure what to upgrade or start again from scratch, current spec is as follows:

i5 2300 @ stock 2.8GHz
Asus P8H67-M Pro motherboard
Corsair 8Gb XMS3 DDR Ram at 1333 MHz
Radeon 6570 graphics card
128GB M4 SSD
500GB Seagate HD
Corsair 430W V2 CX PSU
Pioneer DVD Rewriter
generic case
Win 7 Pro 64bit

As an office and media pc it does every thing I want it to but for games I'm not sure if the i5 2300 would bottle neck say a Radeon 7850 etc. I know the PSU and GPU would have to be changed and I guess the case as well as with the hot weather it has been getting alittle warm.

The MB has the the most recent bios so could go for an Ivy bridge if needed, would it be worth going upto a i7 2600, i7 3770 or even i5 2500 non K as I'm not into over clocking and the board doesnt do it.

games wise want to play GTA IV, Guild Wars 2 and a few others. budget wise can go upto £400 but would have to buy the parts in stages.

Can any one reccomend on upgrades?

On the case I was thinking of along the lines of the Fractal Define R4 with another 2 fans or so.

Sorry for long post wanted to try and give as much info as possible

it depends what res how much the cpu holds it back
gta is very cpu hungry tho, guild wars ive never played so duno

i think you can still overclock the non k's a little no?

non K's can over clock alittle but my motherboard doesn't over clock much and I'm not into over clocking. Resolution not entirely sure some thing that looks okish as pc is connected to a 22inch Sony Bravia TV

if it was my money think id just grab a 670 (if it fits in ur case)
that psu might just be ok with it aslong as not overclocking
