Hi

Does anyone know of any free/cheap software that allows users on a network to leave a message for other users? So if someone is on a phonecall and somebody else has taken a message for them, they can send them a pop-up message onscreen with details (who rang, number to ring back etc).

Cheers

could setup yahoo/msn accounts and give everyone 'pidgin'

this is what we do in my office (only a few of us work here mind)

Thanks for the quick replys. They currently have 30+ staff so don't really want to setup yahoo/msn style accounts for every user. Something that linked into exchange server 2003 would be ideal if there is such a thing?

Cheers

Just as an afterthought...

Setup your own IRC server, then get people to use PVTChat using /msg NICK <yourmessage>

A lot of good clients such as Chatzilla.

I know Exchange 2000 had a instant messenger feature in it.

Does 2003, or did MS take it out in order to sell Live Communications Server (or whatever the latest flavour is called)?

Can you set up Google Apps for your domain to run their Messenger without setting it up to run email too?
