Hi all,

Does windows office work fluidly across both a mac and pc with 1 account? Wife has a surface pro 6 and want to buy a mini mac, will they work ok as a pair with office?

They can each open the other platforms documents, yes. Outlook on the Mac is a poor version of Outlook on Windows though. I have one account and have it installed on two Macs so she should be fine with it on both the Surface and the Mac mini.

OK worth a punt then, thanks

There are very minor changes with some advanced features across the office apps, but for the majority of people they're identical and work the same.

If you mean purely file compatibility then you shouldn't have too many issues, they also support open document formats, unless you're dealing with macros/VBA.
And even though Office now shares a common codebase, there are still differences between platforms in terms of features although i would argue for the average joe it's negligible.

As @ic1male mentions, if it's MS365 licencing then it depends on the licence although each licence typically allows five devices to be attached before it starts grumbling.
