I am wishing to build a new computer which is primarilly going to be on office dutys. It will pretty much do the usual Microsoft Office, internet browsing etc and maybe the occasional old game if graphics are up to it. It's important that the graphics can handle blu ray films.

The most important thing is for the system to be quick and for it not to bog down if a few applications are running. Good graphics is a nice bonus, though not that high on the list. It's possible for a GPU to be added in at a later date, though it's unlikely. The motherboard needs HDMI output and he need a CD drive.

I already have:
MATX case

The budget is around £260 for the PC.

Thanks :)

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Pentium G3430 3.30GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £65.99
1 x NZXT Hale Power 90+ 550W '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply £43.99
1 x Asus H81M-PLUS Intel H81 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £40.99
1 x **B Grade** Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (S (HD-257-SE) £26.99
2 x TeamGroup Elite 2GB (1x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Single Channel Module (TED32GM1600C1101) £16.99 (£33.98)
Total : £211.94 (includes shipping : ).

Has a bit of an upgrade path, will support an i3/i5/i7 fine in the future (doubtful with an office build, but should more grunt be needed the option is there) :)
4GB RAM should be more than enough for office stuff
B-grade HDD should be fine, saves around £13 and will more than likely be an open-box return or something like that

Hopefully £1 over budget isn't too much? :D Takes into account your free shipping

APU is great idea.

And will certain beat a pentium.

But they need fast ram for the onboard GFX like I did, you also need a PSU;)

Thank you all for the suggestions and sorry for taking ages to reply!

I'm ready to order over the weekend though the requirements has changed a little, turns out the RAM was faulty. The budget for the PC is around £260 for everything apart from a PC case.

I have been seeing a lot of people recommend Superflowers lately. Are they good compared to something like the 430W Corsairs? When I google them I can't seem to find much about them.

Thanks.

Superflower obliterate corsair in PSUs, the internals are much better and are just better in every way...
Many will tell you this
