Office Pro 2010 No Counterfeit?

I have had Office Pro 2010 installed since 2011. Pucker version bought from retailer in New York. Just had to wipe drive and reload everything and now the Office will not validate. I have spoken to Microsoft and they are saying it is a counterfeit.

I have sent it to them as requested but just wondered if anyone else had encountered this issue. The box, Serial Key, Labels and disk Hologram all looked perfect to me.

Have you double checked the serial key with them to make sure you haven't read it wrong?

Also, was it sealed when you bought it? If not it may be a genuine copy that has already been used by someone else. Which Retailer in New York?

Don't remember the retailers name. It was sealed and yes numbers checked and double checked. I had reloaded it a couple of times over the last 2 years but now it's counterfeit? Its on its way to Dublin for Microsoft to look into.
