Hi all, a little problem i would like answered if you would be so kind.

The way Microsoft Office (2010 in this case) works when opening/working with files, is it creates a temporary version of this file where the changes are made and then when saved and closed it will write this temporary data to the original and then delete the temporary file. Right?

If you have a file server where these documents are saved and worked off of you (or at least i) need to have modify privileges to the server share to be able to save documents. This is because it not only needs to read and write but delete this temporary file that's created.
Ideally i would like to have just read and write permissions and have the temporary file stored locally rather than on the server in the directory with the original. Is this possible? Or is there another way around this?

TIA
