Office upgrade / license question

If you have say Office 2000 installed (retail) and buy and install Office 2007 (retail upgrade) am i right in saying the Office 2000 license is then finished and can not be re-used on another machine?

I'm pretty sure if its retail you can move it to oits only oem that would die with the pc.

as above an oem copy is tied to the machine ( legally ) I'd simply suggest using open office 3 if you need a second office suite to install on a second system

You get an upgrade version at a cheaper price than full retail which means that the license for Office 2000 dies when you upgrade to 2007 If your copy of Office 2000 is OEM then the upgrade license also becomes OEM

That is how i thought it worked, thanks for clearing it up.
