Looking for wireless setup to cover office, over 4 floors.
Mainly for visitors but looking for strong signal, and features such as QOS to limit bandwidth would be good. Not looking to spend loads, simple workable solution. Perhaps a router and additional access point? Just no idea what hardware to get. THanks

What sort of area are we talking per floor? you could use a decent router that supports bandwidth limits by QoS policy with an AP per floor.

But it depends on the size of the floors. If you start getting to 5+ APs to provide coverage it might be worth investing in some managed APs and an entry level mobility controller to manage them. There might even be open source software out there to do this from a server.

How much? If you're not prepared to spend a minimum of £750 or so then you may as well just grab consumer stuff. The best I could suggest below that price point is actually Apple airport extremes, which do WDS and seem to work rather well. No QOS or the like though.

If you have sensible budget for it then HP are good value, Cisco are Cisco and Meraki are my favourite outsider.

The meraki product I've just deployed at a few offices and I'm still very keen on it, it's essentially moved the controller role to the cloud so you license access to that (For next to nothing) and buy the APs (which aren't expensive in comparison to others). Loads of features too.

Sounds like it's tailor made for a Aruba setup - maybe a AP200 and a few wireless APs - you can then put an AP on each floor and do things like map the signal strength, have multiple SSIDs for guest networks and other fun stuff.

Currently I'm deploying Trapeze Networks SmartMobile stuff.

Their offering for something of your scale is the MXR-2. Which has the full smart mobile feature set and supports 4 APs. costs about £550-600.
