Office2016: Cannot Make Change; Selection is Locked

Hello, folks.

Whenever I try to type or make change in a word file, there is a warning displayed on the bottom of the document. It says " You cannot make this change because the selection is locked"

Does anyone know how this problem be fixed ?

Your version of Office hasn't expired has it? That would be the case if you were running a trial version I'd expect.
