After many years of living in apartments, mrsyoustolemyname and I got our first house last October. It has a rather nice garden even if I do say so myself and with the first rays of sunshine appearing today I am in BBQ frenzy mode!

Ultimately I want a Weber Smokey Mountain but since I want to BBQ like RIGHT NOW! I am off to grab something cheap and cheerful that will allow me to cook over charcoal. Weather Forecast is ok...ish

So, any suggestions for a high street BBQ bargain? This one is leading the chase at the minute: http://www.diy.com/nav/garden/outdo...ongley-Rectangular-Charcoal-Barbecue-12718622

What does everyone else cook on? Any experienced pitmasters want to share tips? I thought this thread would make a good resource for all things BBQ :D

and would the one touch perform as well as something like this for smoking?

I would say 80% of the time I will be doing chicken breasts, steaks and burgers over coals but the other time I would want some smoked brisket or ribs.

The Frontier is around the price I want to spend (£150-200) but seems to offer more versatility perhaps?

Grabbed a cheap kettle from tesco last night and did burgers and sausages over charcoal. They were ok but not very smokey at all...

Going to get a chimney starter today and some wood chips to see if I can smoke some ribs low n slow before doing some chicken kebabs.
