The Las Vegas Formula 1 circuit was constructed for the 2023 season, bringing a high-octane twist to the City of Lights, including a dash down the famous Strip.

The inaugural Grand Prix on this circuit was in 2023, but Las Vegas is no stranger to F1, having hosted races in 1981 and 1982 under the Caesars Palace Grand Prix name. Those races saw Alan Jones and Michele Alboreto take the checkered flag, while Nelson Piquet and Keke Rosberg secured their championships with fifth-place finishes.

As for the circuit's layout, it's a 6.2km thrill ride with 17 turns, zipping past Vegas landmarks like Caesars Palace, the Bellagio, and the Venetian. It's fast, too – think Monza speeds – ensuring a spectacle of speed and skill.

Why should you attend? The Las Vegas Grand Prix is more than a race; it's a high-speed party in a city that knows how to entertain. The 2023 event set the bar high, and the buzz hasn't stopped. Imagine the thrill of F1 combined with Vegas' nightlife – it's a Saturday night fever on wheels!

And where to watch? Take your pick from VIP luxury to the heart of the grandstand action or mingle with the crowds in general admission. No matter where you are, you're in for a visual feast as F1 cars roar against the neon glow of one of the most electrifying cities in the world.

Just a reminder, but consider it a warning - can we not have any further derogatory name calling of drivers, team bosses and the like. We don't expect you to like every driver/team, but at least keep comments respectful.

If you don't follow this warning, you will lose access to the race thread and the thread for the following race as well.

This includes but is not limited to such terms including Lulu, Crashstappen, Karen Horner, Whingey Spice etc.

I don't see how (money aside) Red Bull can justify keeping Perez but I bet they will.....
Colapinto not doing his chances of an F1 drive much good after that; teams don't tend to like drivers who wreck cars.

Do Williams have a reserve driver? Seeing some suggestion that Colapinto may not be passed to race this weekend after a 50G crash (and well possibly no car I guess...) its unclear whether they are actually allowed to swap driver after qualifying anyway (Although I recall Paul di Resta raced in Hungary after Massa's Qualifying crash all those years ago).

Hard to say, isn't it? He's older than Seb was when he got his fourth. He could go on and get many more, or he could spend years watching other drivers win. He always gives the impression that he's not all that happy in F1, I wonder whether we'll see him go off to race in other areas if he goes a few years without a WDC? Which, tbh, seems more likely than not. I don't see RB as favourites next year or favourites to nail the 2026 regulations.

He certainly doesn't seem like a driver that's going to go on and on in F1 like many do; I reckon he fancies a shot a things like WEC/Le Mans as well at some point; something Red Bull can't offer him and really something that isn't compatible with a full-time F1 driver (well maybe a Le Mans on-off is).

Next year will be interesting; I expect much the same but given teams aren't allowed to start work on the '26 car before 2025 there clearly will be some development to the '24 cars (in previous eras many teams would have just thrown the last year of a regulation "era" and focused on the new one for more than a season); both Red Bull and Mercedes need some - Red Bull to try and get back to the front, and Mercedes to try and get more consistency out the car.

OK so if a single driver can outbid the money offered for winning constructors then surely there's something a bit wrong with the prize money offered.

Ultimately I don't think RB care that much about $$ or the constructors as much as people think. The team could be funded for eternity by Red Bull GmbH and they don't need the accolade as much as every other team on the grid

Its only difference between say 1st and 3rd in the WCC that Perez is effectively "funding" not the entire thing.
Also the prize money isn't officially declared but in 2023 it was estimated that 1st won $140 million, 2nd $131m and 3rd $122m so that's the "funding" gap.

Although your right Red Bull as a company probably are less concerned about it than some teams are.
