HD6900 scores seem dissapointing, my overclocked HD5870 scores higher than some of these efforts.

I know they are cheap, but considering HD5870 was released over a year ago it's pretty poor.

AMD really does lag behind intel in the cpu physics scores.

HD6900 scores seem dissapointing, my overclocked HD5870 scores higher than some of these efforts.

I know they are cheap, but considering HD5870 was released over a year ago it's pretty poor.

The problem is it not just the performance. Its two fold, the heat and the noise wise its a backwards step from AMD 58** series.
Its two steps forwards one step back.

Yep, some of the feedback from reviews and users has not been great.

But on the other hand some seem happy with the noise levels so they can't all be bad.

My GPU 6950 flashed to 6970 and running 900/1400 24/7 I haven't seen hit 80c yet on auto fan setting and its very quiet. I'm watercooled with some Gentle Typhoons so noise is important to me.

My 3D 11 Score is P5568 and the card cost me just over £210

I just have no reason to buy a Nvidia Card at the moment for sooooooooooooooooo many reasons. Including the abilty to bitstream DTS HD master Audio along with other stuff.

This card is great bang for buck. End Of.

A few results,
I ran 3Dm11 benchmark with my 6950 in crossfire at stock speed with my i7 930 at stock then I installed the 3Dm11 patch & benchmarked again, after this I then overclocked my i7 to 3.3 GHz with my memory running at 1800 MHz 9-9-9-24 cr1
after this I tried again this time I tightened timings down to 1800 MHz 7-7-7-20 cr1 & with my system running at this speed I ran a final benchmark using the 6970 bios.

P7934 3DMarks-default i7930 2.8ghz with standard hd 6950 crossfire result
P7968 3DMarks after the 3d mark update patch
P8585 3DMarks after update & overclocked to 3.3 with mem at 1800 9-9-9-24 CR1
P8621 3DMarks after update & overclocked to 3.3 with mem at 1800 7-7-7-20 CR1
P9319 3DMarks after update & overclocked to 3.3 with mem at 1800 7-7-7-20 CR1 with hd-6970 bios flash

well im really pleased here . ive just got my 5850 to p5002 . i was going to buy a 570 to replace it but at £198@launch over a year ago this card is awsome

Guys, I'm really out of touch with PC gaming but wanted to test my new Laptop.

I get the following error when loading 3DMark11.

"No DirectX 11 support. Found feature level 10_1"

I guess there is now way round this and its hardware related?

Your graphics card needs to support DirectX 11
