***** Official 3D Mark Vantage Scores thread *****

Put the CPU BLK frequency to 190

Put the CPU ratio to 21

increase CPU volts to 1.3v

= 4Ghz

As you increase BLK you ram speed will increase, knock it back to within you rams rated speed as to assure system stability.

Yeah 4Ghz needs a few more volts, well within recommended max volts for the 920, your CPU may need less volts but you have to start somewhere.

^^
but set the cpu ratio to 20 (as this is all the i7 920 can go to) as the turbo will increase it to 21 thus = 4ghz

I put the BLK to 190 and enabled turbo and ran prime 95 giving me 3999ghz but the temps after about 15mins are hitting mid to high 80s.
Bit worried

Yeah, are you on stock cooling?

And don't worry about temps in games, it will never get near the same temps as prime when gaming.

Much better scores, the 5970 can breathe now, if you don't do much video editing or CPU intensive stuff you could disable hyper threading as I have done as HT is no use in gaming, you will save 10c on the temps.

Won't hurt to see what clocks you can get on the 5970, max overdrive out and play some games, if she's not stable knock the clocks down a notch, keep an eye on temps. I would use MSI afterburner to monitor temps and to overclock as well.

I got X12692 (GPU) on my new Sapphire 5970 with a QX9650 (4ghz), Stock GFX settings

What scores do 5870 users get on X-Scores in Vantage on the GPU?, Some people here claim to get nearly """that score with a 5870""" (when comparing it to a 5970 at the default 1280 resolution test).

Remember, the test is Akin to 3dmark06 (IMO), in which the default test runs at 1280 resolution.

Lets see some X-scores! - put the GPU to the test!
