** Official 680 review thread **

why are some many people trying to compare 2 entirely different gpus clock for clock

sounds lile AMD fanboys clutching at straws tbh

There's my thoughts on the matter with the both of them fixing prices with a real lack of performance gains!:(

You can bring dev costs into the argument all you like(considering they have had an extra year really to work on them), I'm not wearing it one bit!

@straxusii,
Why don't you go sli with your 480?

I'm on 6950>70 CrossFire and there is no reason for me whatsoever to upgrade.

I'd be losing performance 9/10 in games, never mind the cost.

Just for the record, my 7970 runs at an everyday overclock at stock voltage of 1150/1650.

I think it's mightily strange we've not seen any overclocked benches on the 680

+1, only seen 2 reviews so far but I hope this isn't an Nvidia directive.

Well actually if it is then all the better because it obviously means GK104 is near it's ceiling at 1Ghz and everyone can happily buy 7970s instead

Latest Products.
Zotac GeForce GTX 680 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
£429.95 inc VAT

Was hoping for a little cheaper tbh.

Wait until AMD release Catalyst 11.3 & 11.4, then compare the 680 & 7970.

From what I've read, I reckon there isn't as much o/c head room on the 680 as some expected.

Well tbh, they could save ££££'s and buy the 7950 and OC that...

Nothing wrong with being a little optimistic, just offer a little prayer when you click the 'buy' button. H100? you must be planning on o/clocking the brute, not really into that myself, why would I spend circa £400 on a card and then try and fry it for a little self satisfaction? But then again each to his own.

The H100 is for my CPU :P and I don't really intend on OC'ing it heavily (just yet anyway) By the looks of these prices I don't think i'll be ordering that however.

Disappointed with £430 for the Zotac ..

OC do have a bit of a history of being a little pricey on launch days though, I bet there will be sub £400 cards around.

Pricey in general, just compare whats in stock and other retailers and you'll see almost £100 difference!

Anyways, will wait a few weeks to see performance of the 680, either way to the 7970 is surely to reduce in price and i see ocuk has the 7970 sapphire in stock, should be awesome.

Yeah I agree. Hopefully OcUK are competitive with these but seeing as the prices of the 7970s were increases I'm not hopeful of seeing these under £400.

Asus 7970 springs to mind there(although it has since dropped by ~£40).

Last year OCUk were almost untouchable with 6950 pricing in general, what's happening guys?:(
