Thought i'd get a topic up and running for the 6000 series owners in the forum,

I'd like this to stay clean and not turn into a bashing thread.

Post your overclocking experiences, temperatures and benchmarks in this thread and it will be easy for everyone to see how they perform

I myself would love to see some x-fire benchmarks different to all those online reviews.

Keep it clean and enjoy the thread

Some benchmark ideas for people to try

crysis benchmark tool clicky

unigine heaven 2.1clicky

Avp benchmarkclicky

If you know any others you would like to add please message me via trust and i will add them to the list

I got my MSI 6870 to 990/4600Mhz and received a 10% boost in performance. Temps were the same but the fans ramped up to 47% from 40% under load.

Edit: make that closer to 8.5% and not 10%

Waiting on the overvolting.
MSI's dev is working on it for the 68XX.

Yeah things are looking up.

i'm very interested in the 68** series especially how well x-fire seems to be performing, but i'm still gonna hold out for the 69** series cards and see what AMD can bring to the table.

Hopefully some people will start adding to the thread later in the week when they have had their cards for a few days.

amen to that

I may have some 6870 xfire results soon ( have a Dell U3011 coming as well as an OCZ Ibis ssd arriving tomorrow hopefully) :D

Is the best way to build Xfire system from scratch, install windows with single card and once thats running install the 2nd AMD card?

If done this way I presume primary gfx card doesnt change (ie no need to change dvi cable to other card)

(Ive never heard of primary/secondary PCIe *16 slots anyway ....this is still the case isnt it)?

Pssst, Don't get 6970 xfire if you don't need it. Your setup seems prone to driver conflicts with AMD cards...

ive mentioned a few times that after 10.4 drivers were not the same
ive never mentioned conflicts.
get it right brother ;)
my xfire setup ran flawlessly on 10.4 and 10.9 it was just the inbetween
im sure if and when i get xfire again i will find a happy medium

Just tried the crysis benchie with all settings on DX10, "very high", 2xAA with a 6850 @830 core/ 1130 memory, res 1920 x 1080 with the system below in me sig and got 25.65 fps
Normal in game settings, with everything at medium and shaders, texture quality and object quality on "very high" but everything else the same, I get 45.6 fps average.
If someone can tell me how to do a screen shot I'll post it here.:)
