How it looks now.

I wasn't pleased with it. The bracket was ghetto and the fan a little bit too big so it was at an angle.. Mod time.. Get out the orange plexi left over..

What I won't show is how I bent it, using our toaster. But basically I put the sheet in and heated it up enough so it was pliable, then set to work shaping it..

A lot of sculpting and cutting later.

It really won't make much sense right about now.

The fan it will use was tatty. I cut the frame off a week or so ago when starting the design.

Time to braid it, but first here's the back.

Time to put some paint on the bracket.

And the end result.

Of course it still won't make much sense, so it's time to add the fan on.

Which will be glued in place with some really strong contact adhesive.

If you cast your mind back to the first picture you will see how it will mount onto the 120mm fan, hanging it over the northbridge ;)

It should look very, very tidy.

Great job mate :D An inspiration to the rest.

When running somewhat normal clocks (4.7ghz now with 1.42v) it seems fine. However when I had it at 5ghz on 1.5v I played BF3 for about 40 mins and the IO shield was red hot, as was the back of the case around it. All it really needed was some air moving the heat along tbh, just a small bit of airflow over it.

I think I have that exact issue. I've been thinking about fitting a very very small fan and somehow sticking it to the rad of the H80 - but there's only about 3cm gap - so it needs to be mega-thin.

What fans are you running on that H100 so that you can stand it being on "full"?

I can't bare the stock fans on my H80 on medium!

I'm running Cougar Vortex mate.

IIRC the Corsair fans lasted about ten minutes before I felt I was going to go sterile. Way too much noise.

I haven't connected the fans to the pump because it was more wires and I hate mess. So basically I've only set it to full for the light :D

I will probably invest in a set of better fans than these corsair ones (will need 4, as 2 are case fans) like you mention that are quieter at full pelt than corsair are at stock.
