The event, titled "Hi, Speed" has been announced to take place on October 13th and is expected to play host to the unveiling of the new iPhone 12 lineup. Alongside the new iPhone, it is expected that other new products, such as the long-awaited AirTags, the new over-ear AirPod Studio headphones, and an updated HomePod will also be unveiled. However, for those expecting Apple Silicon powered Macs, I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet, as rumours are not pointing towards their unveiling just yet.

The 2020 iPhone is expected to be released in a total of four sizes, with the 12 receiving a Max size this time around, with the 12 Pro coming in the smaller and Max sizes as released previously. It is expected that iPhone will become 5G this year, with speculation into whether the Pro models will receive a screen capable of a 120 Hz refresh rate, similar to what is found in the iPad Pro.

Don't know what I'll go for, I'm torn between going for a big phone vs little. I think the price points will probably be the key thing for me. Excited for this as my current iPhone 7 is getting a bit tired now.

I’m keeping an eye on the mini, but would go bigger if there is better value to be had.

I'm still umming and erring over whether I'll just replace the battery in my XS Max, or make the move to an 11 Pro. I'm not fussed about the smaller/larger screen size, but the little upgrades and the improved camera means it scratches the new phone itch without being so costly.

12 Pro for me, will begrudgingly go up to a Max if I need to for 120hz

Hopefully the magnetic alignment and the Speed hint mean they’ve bumped up the wireless charging from the currently meagre 7.5w.

I'll be buying a cheap iPhone 11 Pro 256GB from some poor sucker whose lost £600+ in a year. :D

Looking forward to see what stupid names they come out with for normal every day technology just so they can have another trademark buzzword. SmoothRetina Super Ultra Mega Lazors display.

Oh, if they keep the proprietary charging/data port then I hope they give a valid reason why every other device is USB-C, not just ignore the fact it has stayed the same. Maybe they can be 'brave' and change it. :p

Not really sure what I’m going to do this time round. My XS works perfectly fine albeit the battery doesn’t last as long as it used to but then at nearly 2 yrs old and a few OS updates, I’m not really that surprised.

If I do go for one then I’ll probably go for the 12 pro. Not interested at all in the bigger sized 12 pro max as I prefer to be able to use my phone one handed.

The battery on my XS Max is showing 95% after two years and I don't notice it being any shorter really. However, I'll get Apple to put a new battery in and will pass it over to Mrs. Feek to replace her 6S which doesn't last a day.

Mines at 90% but as I said the battery doesn’t last as long as it used to. Still easily get a days use out of it but by the time I get home from work, it’s at 30%.

Interested in seeing what gets released but I won't be buying anything.

I'm still more than happy with my Xs and my wife has the 2020 SE so there's no chance of upgrading my phone so that she gets the Xs. :p

I just got a new car that only supports CarPlay so I'm forced into getting an Apple phone. I'm only interested in the 12 Mini at this point, so fingers crossed its specs haven't been neutered too much.

My XS max is at 91% and has been at that since I bought it second hand some months ago. I bought it thinking I’d try iOS and if I didn’t get on with it I’d sell it again and go back to galaxy s10. I’ve not gone back to android :D Only thing I’m not so keen on is the size of the Max. Back to battery and not long after I got it checked how many charge cycles it had done which turned out to be 524 cycles. That said the battery life is good and never run it down in a day. Never crossed my mind it might need replacing.

Having sold the galaxy s10 I may do a trade in for a new iPhone 12 pro. Don’t think I’ll go down the Max route this time as the XS Max is larger than is comfortable. Really depends what is announced and how much they want for the new phone.

Which is my plan B :D

I think if you click on the event it launches some AR?

We won't see any AR devices at the event though, maybe some cool stuff but no actual products. We'd have been bombarded with leaks (controlled and otherwise) if Apple were to release AR devices in a week.

Apple likes teasing people with event pages though :D And then disappoint when nothing happens at the actual event.

This smaller 5.4" might just be a hit.
Rumoured to be apart of next years lineup too, so will likely get the successor seeing as the 11 Pro replacement has increased in size.

Don't feel that excited or interested in this years lineup tbh, usually I'm curious even when I dont plan to buy anything.

May change once they're unveiled and I get hands on, but definitely remaining with my Pro for the forseeable.

If I hadn't got my 11 Pro, I would have definitely gone from the 7 to 12 mini.

One thing I think though is the iPhone 12 mini will definitely encourage the resurgence of smaller Android phones, seeing as the current trend is 6"+ for the most whether it be high end or midrange.
