*****Official Ashes thread*****

Back from holidays, so tend not to post on the forums whilst I'm away...but avidly been listening. Just read back through the thread some interesting opinions. The lbw/caught behind saga is interesting but I agree with gilly. Listening to tms and the transparent sleeve applied to bats outfoxxing hotspot is another good debate, but I think its the technologies responsibility to change with the bats not the other way around. As Vaughan said this morning on tms buying his lad a £350 bat with out a protective sleeve is a real no no, it's needs it for the longevity of the bat.

So chuffed for them, great to see warne eating his words.
Always better to win the ashes rather than retain them.

Woot woot

Essex have signed him up as their Spinner is out of the game for a long period, good to see someone pick him up when he is down. Would love to see him flourish, he could be great in the reverse ashes over there.

I thought Lehmann had conducted himself pretty well until this...it's just not cricket.

"I hope the Australian public give it to him right from the word go for the whole [Australian] summer," he said.
More from Lehmann's interview
Triple M presenter: "The big news is that idiot Broad has finally come out and admitted what we knew, that it came off the centre. He's admitted he's done it on the eve of the Test after they've won the Test series, is he going to cop a bit of action when he comes to the crease?"

Lehmann: "He's been copping it all series, mate. I expect it will continue for a long time yet and I would hope the public get stuck into him when he gets out to Australia. I hope he whinges a lot."

Presenter: "I can't wait. He won't want to be fielding on the third man boundary, I reckon."

Lehmann: "The whole of Australia can help there, which I'm looking forward to"
"And I hope he cries and goes home. I don't advocate walking, but when you hit it to first slip it's pretty hard."

Thoughts?

That's an awful opening spell for Kerrigan. 100 in 2 hours on day 1 off a test is fast scoring but mainly because of kerrigans spell.

Fair enough evangelion. Thoughts go to you bud.

Watson just got hit at 88mph under the ear (the bit not covered by the helmet) he is up again and looks ok. Tough bugger.

He didnt its the sound his name makes ive noticed it throught out the tests rooooooooot just sounds like boooooooo.

It's a shame the spectators acted like muppets booing Clarke, he declared and made it a game of it, which was a very positive act.

Edit: slow reply is slow.

I know its not ashes but England are playing Australia in a game of 20:20 now at the rosebowl.

We are being schooled at the moment 6 after 6. Quite incredible to watch.

I think when a batsman goes so well your death bowler should be put in early. It's like they have already played the end of their innings in the middle.
