*****Official ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA thread*****

can anyon me tell me if this board likes 4 1gb sticks. havnt yet unboxed the board and wont be able to until xmas. i will be clocking the q66 on this.

setup includes

asus maximus
q6600 g0
4x1gb geil 6400 ull
8800gtx oc2
auzentech x-fi prelude
dvd hdd etc etc

I've run 2 mixed sets of RAM on mine and it was fine @ stock speeds.

I fitted all the aftermarket cooling and this board was still extremely flakey. :(

After further experimention it seems it doesn't like 400FSB strap at all, so I have to gimp memory speed unlike on my nForce 680i.

Asus Maximus Formula SE Intel X38 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

This is currently on the latest bundle offers with a Q6600. Is this a "good" board to have? I have water, so I will be pushing things...

I rekon it's the best mobo I've ever had, superby stable and overclocks like a rocket, buy buy buy.

Beta 0901

Hi, ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/Maximus_Formula/MF0901.zip they're coming thick and fast now. I must say I recommend both the 0802 and the 0901, for me these have been the most stable and overclockable of any of the releases to date and that seems to be the case from what I'm reading in other forums as well.
The changes I've read that 0901 bring are a fix system may not boot with total of 4GB of ECC DIMM when enabling Memory Remapping option in the bios.

does anybody know anything about this V2 SE board yet?

i want to pull the hammer on the non SE as i will slap a MCW30 block onto the NB but i'm curious about the V2 SE that has suddenly popped up.

Hi, that is indeed good news, lets hope they don't break it again with further releases :) With these newer bios I've now got a stable oc up to 3.4 without worrying about my temps. Updating my water cooling this weekend, if I can find the time. Got a Thermochill PA120-3 to replace the swiftech, and have another mb/sb prepped motherboard to go in. I'm hoping I will be able to hit 3.6 this time, fingers crossed...

just bought this board with a q6600 got it up to 3.oghz @320x9 how do you change the fsb to dram ratio as i think thats *** stoppin it go further coz if i up it any more it just shows det dram on the post indicator, im runnin ocz pc6400 reaper ram @ 5-5-5-15 2.0v but have just orderd crucial ballistix tracer pc8500 and sendin the other back

Hi, you can set it in the bios under dram frequency...

picked up some goodies today - life is no fun w/out new toys don't ya think :D

and a 2nd picture for comedy, figured i would redo my loop and have a cleanout....i think maybe it's a good idea no :p

that's 8mths since i built the loop and still kept my q6600 @ 3.7 46-48c small fft with a Storm, 120.3 is amazing even with crud!!!!

hope i like this board as much or more than my p5k-dlx :)

Hi folks,
was going to buy a 680i board but looking at the Maximus now, wondered if the Swiftech H20 120 Compact Kit would work for both NB and CPU (Q6600)? or am i being foolish to think a £90 WC kit will cope with both?
