*****Official ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA thread*****

903 is good fo me also. It's still not perfect though. Half Multi's don't work and I have a problem clearing the cmos still. 2.4v available for the CPU in this bios though! :D

What BIOS are these currently shipping with?

Just noticed your thread after I updated my bios to 902. Got the board yesterday from OCUK and the shipped bios was I think 4**?, does that sound about right?

Just reading up on it atm my temps whilst downloading Steam are,

MB - 33c
CPU - 43c
C1 - 35c
C2 - 36c
C3 - 34c
C4 - 35c
NB - 46c
SB - 44c

Under a TT120 with standard fan.

All help and tips welcome, as there are a lot of unkown bios options than on the DFI Ultra-D its replacing!

Okay I am all set up, I have been ruunning at 3.5 GHZ with the crazy auto level up option in 903 bios.

I decided it was time to get up to 3.6 which was alway my aim so I have gone into the bios to chage the FSB to 400. However when press enter to chage it it won't let me. Also when I try to change the cpu ratio control it won't let me.

Any ideas?

Built PC for my friend today with a Maximus Formula, board seems good, updated to the latest bios, then got to start overclocking, didnt get much chance though as my friend was worried about me breaking it lol :D, SO i left it at 2.8 for him, i noticed though, from 1.375volts in BIOS, it was showing as only 1.1 i think it was in CPU-Z.

you sure it wasnt "speedstepped" voltage and cpu speed it was showing

Nope speedstep is disabled, something definately isnt right, as he just told me over MSN that the CPU still isnt stable, and its only at 2.8

ANy ideas on this - it seems like i must be missing something obvoius?

i wouldnt worry about it tbh, sometimes cpu-z gives the wrong reading (although its giving the correct voltage in my case, same board different chip), if its all working its all good.

New bits arrived yesterday:

Asus Maximus Extreme
Q6600
OCZ 2GB DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Platinum

Got it all up and running today with my 2 2900Pro 1024MB's modded to 850/1000 and have it stable at 430 x 9 = 3870Ghz

I'm also running two seperate water loops:

1. PA120.2 - CPU
2. PA120.3 NB & both GPU's

Got 19603 in 3DMark06, so all in all, pretty darn chuffed so far.

Quick question, on the 8pin power connector on the board (half of which is covered) is it required to have all 8 pins used or just 1x4pin, if it needs 8 will 2x4pin be ok?
