about a month later and all seems well
Just thought I'd post a reply. LAst time I was having cold boot problems, and generally not being able to overclock the board.
I reflashed the bios with 1207 and still had some problems with the overclocking.
I've found that with my CPU it does not like multipliers above 10.5. I've also found that if I turn off all the advanced facilities for the memory (I'm on my laptop at the moment, so sorry for not quoting the exact BIOS setting) that the board boots up fine MOST OF THE TIME. From cold it will usually give a VID error, but then if you then soft reboot or reset it works fine, and passes all the stability tests that Ive run.
I've managed to get the CPU up to 4.15 Ghz with a cpu oltage of 1.5v but it wasn't stable past about 20 mins of occt. Ive dropped the voltage down to 1.35-1.4 and it runs at 3.85Ghz nicely, at about 60 Degrees under 100% load.
Not quantitive I know, but it may help someone who's getting stuck.
Next is to get the GFX card in the water loop
