All stock, no mods. Using the old AMD app.

Damn, nice clock. I got a GPU recovery thing when I tried using ATI Overdrive and just cranked it up to max, hope that's not a sign of things to come overclocking wise...

Can to post a step-by-step of how its done using the "old AMD app" ?

The apps an old one, been around ages used it on my x1900xtx. Not really a proper name, just AMD gpu clock tool.

Hmm I'm getting nowhere trying to overclock it with AMD GPU Clock Tool, can you give us a runthrough of what you're doing to overclock it please?

Also, using GPU-Z 0.1.5 (same as you) for "ATI Crossfire" mine says "Disabled". Are you using 2 of these cards?

Sounds like you have problems Durzel, mines just the one card btw. Are you using the 8.1 hotfix?. Just select the clock and enable, same as 2900 cf. Gives an error just ignore it and then shut.

Yes, using 8.1 hotfix.

I select the clock in AMD GPU Clock Tool, hit "Set Clock", it gives the error you describe but nothing changes in GPU-Z.

How do you know which card you are supposed to change in AMD GPU Clock Tool?

Just read the fudzilla scores for the overclocked MSI 3870x2 (878/955). I lol'd because it's so stupid.

In 3DMark 06 it scores slightly better than reference Radeon HD 3870 X2. With MSI we scored 13664 marks and 13464 marks with the reference clocked card

Seriously, given the scores coming out of amd were 17-18k, what the heck are fud doing?

Looking at those scores it looks like Fud have everything enabled and running 1620x1080 or something.
