I used stars so you know this thread is serious business.

I've ordered mine and am expecting delivery today. Let's use this thread to post pictures, benchmarks, feedback and have a general chinwag about it :)

Guides

Keenan has posted a guide over on overclock.net for flashing reference cards with the Asus 5770 bios for higher overclocks.

Driver release

Official 9.11 drivers released:

32-bit download
64-bit download

20/11/2009 update:

There is a 9.12 beta doing the rounds, but it seemed to be an earlier version than the performance one we're looking forward to, so I'd suggest giving it a skip and sticking with 9.11 for now.

The Witcher is still bust in 9.11, though it seems not as bust as it was in the 9.11 beta.

I have my 2 coming today... they are the VTX ones. But i am also rebuilding my machine this weekend with a Gigabyte UD6, i7 860 and DDR3, SSD etc so will post xfire results when running..

How do these cards fit into the ATI lineup kind of thing.

Are they a better option crossfire than a 5850 ? or a solo 5870.

Every time i got to order a card im held back by my sensible guardian angel telling me to wait just 1 more month to see what Nvidia has and that to coincide with the X2s and 5890s - just to wee all over Nvidia some more.

sometimes theyre better than the 5850 and even the 5870 in crossfire
alone their roughly the same as the 260-4870

I was reading something yesterday that said you get more bang for buck with crossfire 5770s. I'll see if I can dig it out now.

edit:

And here it is:

Why I am going with the 5770 - Overclock.net

The reason why I am going 5770, and the only good reason why someone who benches would, is crossfire scalability. This card is going to be king when it comes to crossfire price/performance ratio.

Go my ASUS 5770 last week - quite a step up for me coming from integrated graphics ! As z0mbi3 posted, Crysis runs well at 1680x1050 at full settings. Temps are quite cool as well, around 61C at full load.

Has anyone got these folding yet ?

i got my Powercolor 5770 on Monday, put it in and its not displaying anything! Havent had the time to fault find but will do on sunday, hopefully its not broken . Upgrading from a 1900XT

I'm toying with the idea of one of these and another later as i can't afford a 5850, however i'm a little worried i'll be left disappointed when coming from a 4850 to this.

i would just get another 4850 and xfire them.. save you a bit of cash.. :) and will not be a million miles away from the 5850 performance ;) You would only be loosing out on DX11 and eyefinity...

lol thing is i want DX11 and might go for eyefinity as i have 2 monitors already.

I have crossfire 4850 cards at the moment. But i so want to move them on and buy 5770 Crossfire or if i dont have the money even 5750 crossfire.

4850 make more noise, produce more heat & use more power.

I have my card overclockerd to 960 on the core and 1360 on the memory and its stable. Core temp remains at a steady 52.c under load. Thats the limit of the overdrive for the core. Had a few issues at first but that was down to my overclock on the cpu.
Very immpressed with the card runs everything i can through at it @ 1680x1050 maxxed.
